Phenomenon: The WiFi dongle LED flashes red continuously. No data upload to ShinePhone app; inverter may show offline.
Technical Causes:
- Dongle in initial configuration mode or reset state.
- Failed connection to router (wrong password, weak signal, or 5GHz network).
- Dongle not communicating properly with inverter.
Diagnostic Procedure:
- Confirm dongle is securely inserted and inverter powered on.
- Check router: Ensure 2.4GHz band active, signal strength adequate at inverter location.
- Reset dongle: Press and hold button until multiple colors flash, release; LED should flash red.
Resolution:
- Reconfigure via ShinePhone app in hotspot or standard mode.
- Move router closer or use WiFi extender if signal weak.
- Ensure router SSID/password contain only letters/numbers (no spaces/special characters).
WARNING: Maintenance and repair of PV systems, high-voltage DC, and AC components must only be performed by certified professionals with valid electrical qualifications (e.g., SEP/G1 in Poland, or local European equivalents). Unauthorized opening of the inverter housing will void the warranty and carries a risk of electric shock or fire.
In case of persistent hardware failure, the only authorized path for repair is contacting the official Growatt Service Department.
