Phenomenon: Growatt ARK HV battery shows no charging current despite available PV power or grid.
Technical Causes:
- Incorrect battery settings or missing CAN communication.
- Charge current limit set to zero or BMS protection active.
- Inverter operating mode not allowing battery charge.
- Faulty battery contactor or BMS.
Diagnostic Procedure:
- Verify CAN cable between inverter and battery master module is correct (Growatt-specific pinout).
- Check inverter battery type set to “Growatt ARK HV” or “Lithium” with correct parameters.
- Observe battery SOC, voltage, and BMS status in app or display.
- Confirm charge enable and current limits in advanced settings.
Resolution:
- Reseat CAN cable and restart system.
- Adjust charge parameters (max current, voltage limits) per ARK manual.
- Force charge mode if available.
- Replace faulty battery module if BMS reports internal error.
WARNING: Maintenance and repair of PV systems, high-voltage DC, and AC components must only be performed by certified professionals with valid electrical qualifications (e.g., SEP/G1 in Poland, or local European equivalents). Unauthorized opening of the inverter housing will void the warranty and carries a risk of electric shock or fire.
In case of persistent hardware failure, the only authorized path for repair is contacting the official Growatt Service Department.
