“Datalogger Already Exists” – How to reset Growatt monitoring

Phenomenon: ShinePhone app displays “Datalogger Already Exists” during addition attempt.

Technical Causes:

  • Datalogger SN previously registered under another account or plant.

Diagnostic Procedure:

  • Log in to existing ShinePhone account.
  • Navigate to Plant > Datalogger List.

Resolution:

  • Long-press the existing datalogger entry > Select “Configure Datalogger” > Reconfigure WiFi if needed.
  • If not visible or under different account: Contact previous owner/installer to remove, or Growatt support to release SN.
  • Reset dongle and retry addition after release.

WARNING: Maintenance and repair of PV systems, high-voltage DC, and AC components must only be performed by certified professionals with valid electrical qualifications (e.g., SEP/G1 in Poland, or local European equivalents). Unauthorized opening of the inverter housing will void the warranty and carries a risk of electric shock or fire.

In case of persistent hardware failure, the only authorized path for repair is contacting the official Growatt Service Department.
