Description
The Growatt SPE 10000ES is a single-phase hybrid inverter rated at 10 kW, built for installations that combine photovoltaics, battery storage and a backup supply. It has a generator input, so a diesel genset can take over when neither the array nor the battery can cover the load.

Backup and switching
On a grid failure the Growatt SPE 10000ES carries the backup circuits at the full 10 kW, 230 V. The transfer takes under 20 ms for a single unit and under 30 ms when units run in parallel — inside the ride-through window of ordinary domestic and office equipment.
Battery compatibility
This is a 48 V low-voltage platform and it accepts lithium, lead-acid and GEL batteries, which matters when an existing lead-acid bank is being kept rather than replaced. Charge and discharge current reach 220 A and 240 A, so the inverter is not the bottleneck for a bank sized to the 10 kW output.
Scaling and peak shaving
Up to nine units run in parallel, which takes the installation to 90 kW without changing the architecture. A grid-tied function supports peak shaving, capping the demand peak that drives capacity charges on a commercial tariff.
Installation note
The enclosure is rated IP20, so this inverter belongs indoors — a technical room, a garage or a utility space. Cooling is by DC fan, noise stays below 75 dB and idle consumption below 75 W. Operating range is −10 to +50 °C, humidity 5–95% without condensation, altitude below 2000 m. At 21.5 kg and 550 × 465 × 150 mm it is a one-person wall installation.
Monitoring
Remote monitoring runs over Wi-Fi or 4G through the Growatt platform, with the PVkeeper application available for local commissioning. Timed charging and output control let the inverter follow a tariff schedule rather than only instantaneous demand.
