Description
The Growatt RISE 261H-XH is an all-in-one commercial and industrial energy storage system — the battery, the hybrid inverter, thermal management and the fire suppression system ship in a single factory pre-commissioned cabinet. This configuration delivers 125 kW of output power and 261 kWh of storage capacity. In the manufacturer’s parameter table the 125 kW variant is listed as RISE 261H-2H; the same 261 kWh cabinet is also offered at 99.9 kW, 85 kW, 63 kW and 50 kW.

Photovoltaic input
The Growatt RISE 261H-XH takes the PV array directly — no separate string inverter is needed. Ten MPPT trackers, two strings each, accept up to 250 kW of PV power, so the array can be oversized well beyond the 125 kW of output.
PV input parameters

|---|---|
| Number of MPPT trackers | 10 |
| Strings per MPPT | 2 |

| Start-up voltage | 195 V |
| Maximum input voltage | 1100 V |
| Maximum operating voltage | 1000 V |
| Maximum input current per MPPT | 42 A |
| Maximum short-circuit current per MPPT | 50 A |
Grid-tied and off-grid operation
The Growatt RISE 261H-XH works on-grid and off-grid. When the grid fails, the primary load keeps running; the transfer takes 10 ms or less. The unit carries 1.1× rated power continuously and 1.6× for 10 seconds, and tolerates 100% three-phase load imbalance — which matters where single-phase loads dominate one leg. A separate GEN port lets a generator or a grid-tied inverter feed the system at 380/400 V.
AC parameters
| Rated voltage / connection | 380/400 V, 3P4W+PE |

| Off-grid output voltage | 220/230 V (L-N), 380/400 V (L-L) |
| THDv | < 3% at linear full load |
| Load imbalance | 100% three-phase imbalance |
| Overload capacity | 1.1× continuous; 1.6× rated power for 10 s |
| Off-grid switching time | ≤ 10 ms |
| GEN port | 380/400 V, 50/60 Hz, 125 kW, 3P4W+PE |
Scaling beyond one cabinet
The Growatt RISE 261H-XH uses a master–slave architecture and up to 10 units can run in parallel, which takes a site to 1.25 MW / 2.61 MWh without changing the topology. Start with the capacity the load profile needs today and add cabinets later.
Thermal management and fire safety
The battery is liquid-cooled, holding the temperature difference between cells to 2.5 °C or less — cell-to-cell spread is what drives uneven ageing in air-cooled cabinets. Fire protection combines an aerosol and water extinguishing system. The inverter section is air-cooled and rated IP66; the cabinet as a whole is IP55.
Installation requirements
The cabinet is approved for indoor and outdoor installation. Plan the site before delivery — this is a 2.6-tonne unit that arrives on a pallet and is moved by forklift.
- Keep at least 0.8 m of clearance between the unit and the wall.
- Maintain a minimum 1.1 m spacing between adjacent units.
- Reserve space for a forklift at the door opening — 2.5 m is recommended.
- Do not block the air inlet or outlet.
- Storage temperature between −25 °C and +55 °C, humidity 0–95% RH without condensation.
Monitoring and integration
Communication runs over RS485, USB and LAN. The system reports to the Growatt monitoring platform and integrates with third-party EMS and VPP platforms, so it can follow an external dispatch schedule rather than only local self-consumption logic.
Typical applications
- Self-consumption — storing midday PV surplus and releasing it into the evening load.
- Peak shaving — capping demand peaks so the connection capacity and capacity charges stay lower.
- Backup for the primary load — the critical circuits ride through a grid outage with a ≤10 ms transfer.
- Generator integration — the GEN port supports diesel-genset and grid-tied inverter scenarios.
