How the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV works
Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV is a high-power three-phase on-grid (grid-tied) inverter. It feeds all PV energy to the grid and the installation, maximising self-consumption. It does not support energy storage.
Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV has 8 independent MPPT trackers, which lets you connect strings of different orientations and lengths and maintain a high yield even with partial roof shading. You follow the installation in real time in the ShinePhone app and the ShineServer portal — with fault alarms and production history.
Who this inverter is for
- Commercial and agricultural installations focused on self-consumption.
- Businesses with high daytime energy consumption.
- PV farms and larger roofs — multiple independent MPPT trackers.
- Installers looking for a reliable three-phase platform.
Key features and functions
- 8 independent MPPT trackers — flexible string sizing and better yield under partial shading.
- Fuse-free design (no DC fuses)
- String-level monitoring
- IP65 enclosure — indoor and outdoor installation.
- Online monitoring — the ShinePhone app and the ShineServer portal over Wi-Fi.
Sizing and installation design
The power rating of the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV inverter is matched to the installed panel power — on the DC side a slight oversizing is usually applied (a DC/AC ratio just above 1) to make better use of the yield outside peak hours and in months with weaker sunlight. The number and length of the strings are planned around the number of MPPT trackers and the operating voltages given in the manufacturer’s datasheet — this way the inverter starts early in the morning and keeps working until dusk.
In larger installations it is worth splitting the modules into several independent strings of similar orientation to limit the impact of shading and uneven irradiance across the roof. Correct configuration translates directly into annual energy yield and a faster return on investment. If you are not sure how many panels to connect to the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV inverter and how to distribute them across the trackers, send us your design or module list — we will verify the selection free of charge before purchase and propose the optimal configuration (info@growatt.tech).
Self-consumption and savings with the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV
With a grid-tied inverter, self-consumption is key — the more energy you use as it is produced, the lower your bills. Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV keeps the PV yield at its maximum, and you can track production and consumption in the ShinePhone app. If you plan to add energy storage, consider a hybrid version — we are happy to advise.
MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV parameters in practice
A wide MPPT operating voltage range (200-1000 (50-80KTL3) / 180-1000 (100-125KTL3-X2) V) makes string sizing easier and lets the installation start producing even in weaker sunlight. High maximum efficiency (98.8-99%) means lower conversion losses and lower electricity bills.
The inverter comes in an IP65 enclosure, operates across a temperature range of -25…+60 (50-80KTL3) / -30…+60 (100-125KTL3-X2) °C, uses smart air cooling cooling, weighs 84 kg (dimensions 970/640/345 mm). It is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation.
Installation and operation
Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV is three-phase (230/400 V) and has an IP65 enclosure, so it can be mounted indoors and outdoors. Installation should be carried out by a qualified installer in line with the manufacturer’s manual and the local grid connection requirements. Once commissioned, the inverter reports to the ShinePhone app and the ShineServer portal — you get a remote view of production, consumption. The unit is covered by a European service warranty (5 years per manufacturer).

What sets the series apart — Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV
The MAX series comprises three-phase grid-tied inverters for commercial installations and PV farms — many independent MPPT trackers, a fuse-free design and string monitoring.
What to check when selecting the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV
When buying an inverter, the key is matching its power rating to the panel power and distributing the modules correctly across the MPPT trackers. Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV is three-phase (230/400 V) and has 8 independent MPPT trackers, so it pays to plan the number and length of the strings around the available operating voltages already at the design stage. If you plan to add energy storage in the future, consider a hybrid version from the start to avoid replacing the unit. It is also worth planning the mounting location in advance (ventilation, Wi-Fi access for monitoring). If in doubt, send us your design — we will verify the selection free of charge before purchase.
Monitoring and the app — Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV
Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV works with the free ShinePhone app and the ShineServer portal. Once the inverter is connected to a Wi-Fi network, you get a constant remote view of energy production, the yield of individual strings and the history for any period. The app sends notifications about faults and drops in production, so the installer or the owner can react to issues quickly. For installers managing multiple sites, Growatt provides service accounts with a view of the whole inverter fleet from a single panel — convenient for maintaining installations across many customers. Remote monitoring also simplifies warranty handling: operating data makes diagnosis easier without a site visit.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV work with energy storage?
No — it is an on-grid (grid-tied) inverter without battery support. If you need energy storage, choose a hybrid model.
How many phases and MPPT trackers does the MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV have?
The inverter is three-phase (230/400 V) and has 8 independent MPPT trackers. The number of MPPT trackers determines how many independent panel groups you can connect — important for roofs with differently oriented surfaces.
Can the Growatt MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV be installed outdoors?
Yes. The IP65 ingress protection rating allows indoor and outdoor installation. We recommend a shaded location, away from prolonged direct sunlight, with Wi-Fi coverage for monitoring.
What warranty does the MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV carry?
The product is covered by a European service warranty (5 years per manufacturer).
Can I monitor the installation remotely?
Yes, via the ShinePhone app and the ShineServer portal over Wi-Fi — with a view of production and energy consumption.
What is the difference between a hybrid and an on-grid (grid-tied) inverter?
A grid-tied inverter feeds all PV energy to the grid and the installation but does not work with a battery. A hybrid inverter can additionally store surplus energy in a battery and keep the supply up during a grid outage.
Where can I find the full electrical specification of the MAX 125KTL3-X2 LV?
In the manufacturer’s official datasheet — it lists the MPPT voltage and current ranges, efficiency, dimensions and weight. The key values are summarised in the specification table above.
